Dishes, glassware and anything with a lip get individually wrapped in clean packing paper — never newspaper, never straight into a box.

Before anything rolls, the crew turns the room into a wrap station: blankets over every flat surface, shrink over the blankets, tape never touching finish. It looks slow for the first ten minutes of a move and then it is the reason the last hour is boring — because nothing needs fixing, replacing or apologising for.

The move isn't done when the truck is empty. Beds get rebuilt, dressers get placed against the wall you actually wanted, and the boxes land in the right rooms. This bedroom was assembled and set the same evening the truck pulled out of the old place.

Every plate wrapped by hand before a single box gets taped
Kitchens are where most moves go wrong, so ours start there. Paper down, each plate rolled individually, glassware nested in cell dividers, bowls stacked on their sides instead of flat. It is slow, deliberate, boring work — and it is the reason customers open the dish box at the new place and find twelve out of twelve plates intact.

Every box gets written on the top and one side: room, contents, and a fragile note if it needs one. The wrapped bench in this photo says ‘legs fragile’ in marker because the legs unscrew and travel separately. When the truck opens at the other end, the crew already knows which room each box belongs in — so you are not living out of a hallway pile for a week.

A rolled rug that isn't taped tight arrives as a bent, creased mess that never lies flat again. So it gets rolled face-in, taped in three places along its length, and carried upright instead of dragged. It is a two-dollar detail on a two-thousand-dollar rug, and it is the kind of thing you only do if you have watched it go wrong once.

This credenza is heavy, top-loaded and finished on all four sides — the kind of piece that gets chipped when two people rush it. Deon holds the blanket, Dimitri runs the shrink and Marquis takes the far corner. Nobody lifts until the wrap is closed. It costs four extra minutes and saves a refinishing bill.

Cribs, bunk beds and platform frames are the pieces families need working on night one — nobody wants to sleep a toddler on a mattress on the floor. Round tops, glass panels and oversized headboards are the pieces that stall a move. This one got wrapped in plastic over blankets, walked on edge with two hands high and two low, and slid onto a dolly the moment the corridor opened up. Donnell maps the path before anything leaves the room, so the awkward piece is planned, not improvised.

Sofa, loveseat, ottoman, console and the coffee table you refinished yourself — all sleeved before a single piece moves toward the door. Wrapping in place means no drag marks on hardwood and no fabric touching a doorframe. When the customer walked back into this room, the only thing left to say was that it looked like a furniture showroom in shrink.
